CHP plant for NLMK Ural, Producer of Billets and Long Steel Products
In 2019, the MKS Group of Companies successfully commissioned a power plant for NLMK Ural, Russia’s largest producer of billets and long steel products and part of the NLMK Group. The plant’s total thermal output is 25.5 MW, and its total electrical output is 4.5 MW.
The system is based on an MWM TCG 2032B V16 gas engine with an output of 4.5 MW and three hot water boilers. The new power plant meets the entire heat demand of the company. This includes, not only the heat used for technological processes, but also the heat supplied to workshops, plant management, and administrative buildings.
Moreover, the plant supplies 50 percent of the company’s demand for electrical energy. The company also has a special water treatment system that covers its demand for potable water. The MKS Group of Companies completed the project within only 12 months.
